excercise 6 - ben clark

Observations related to gender between the readings:
Women are usually the collectors because generally women shop more.

What are some modern connections between collection and consumption?
collections and what we buy are intermingled now.. we collect what we buy... we amass the many objects that we buy.

Are there characteristics particular to the collector mind set in the US?
I think Americans tend to collect in order to have stuff.. not necessarily for any good reason.

Other interesting observations:

as consumers we're fed marketing strategies at a young age which tie us to a brand, one we're not likely to stray from.. we also are breeding a young generation of hoarders.
